Many coaches get most of their attention on Instagram, LinkedIn or TikTok, and then send that attention to a home page built for a completely different visitor. The result is lots of profile clicks and very few sign-ups or calls. A dedicated **link in bio landing page for coaches** fixes that gap by giving social visitors exactly what they came for, in the format they expect.

**Quick answer:** Social visitors arrive on a phone, with little patience and a specific post in mind. Send them to a short, mobile-first page on your own website that repeats the promise from your content, offers one or two clear actions (a free resource and a call), and loads fast. Use your own domain instead of a third-party link tool so you keep the traffic and the data.

## Why social traffic does not convert on a normal website

Someone tapping the link in your bio has just watched a reel or read a post. They are on a phone, possibly in an in-app browser, and their thumb is ready to go back to the feed. Your home page, designed for people who searched for you on Google, asks them to read your story, browse services and find a contact page. That is too much work in that moment.

Common problems:

- The link goes to the home page, not to what the post promised.
- The page loads slowly in the Instagram or LinkedIn in-app browser.
- Pop-ups cover the screen on mobile.
- Five buttons, none of them clearly the next step.

## Link tools vs your own landing page

| | Third-party link-in-bio tool | Page on your own website |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Setup time | Minutes | A few hours, once |
| Branding and control | Limited | Full |
| Email capture | Basic or paid add-on | Connected to your email platform |
| Analytics | In the tool | In your own analytics with the rest of your site |
| SEO and ownership | Builds the tool’s domain | Builds yours |

A link tool is fine to start with. Once social media is a real source of leads, a page on your own domain usually serves you better.

## What to put on a coach’s link in bio page

1. **A headline that matches your content.** If your posts are about career changes in your 40s, say that.
2. **Your photo and one line of credibility.** People followed a person; show them the same person.
3. **The main action.** Usually your free resource, with a short email form right there on the page.
4. **The second action.** “Ready to talk? Book a call.”
5. **Current highlights.** The resource or offer from your latest posts, updated as you post.
6. **A short proof strip.** One or two real client quotes.

Keep it to one scroll on a phone if you can. Everything else lives on your main site, one tap away.

## Match the page to the post

If a particular post drives lots of traffic, give it its own landing page. “Comment GUIDE and I will send it” works on some platforms, but a short, specific link such as yourname.com/guide is easier to remember and tracks cleanly.

## Speed matters more in in-app browsers

In-app browsers are often slower than the phone’s main browser. Heavy page builders, large images and several tracking scripts can make your page feel broken. Aim for a light page: compressed images, minimal scripts and no auto-playing video. Core Web Vitals are a good way to check this ([web.dev](https://web.dev/articles/vitals)).

## Track what social actually brings

- Add UTM tags to your bio link, for example ?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social.
- Set up form sign-ups and bookings as key events in Google Analytics.
- Ask on your booking form, “Where did you hear about me?”

After a month you will know which platform brings subscribers and which brings calls, which is often different.

## Connect it to your email and booking tools

The sign-up on this page should feed straight into your welcome sequence. ## Frequently asked questions

### Should my Instagram bio link go to my home page?

Usually not. A dedicated page that matches your content and offers one or two clear actions converts social visitors better.

### Is Linktree bad for coaches?

It is fine to start with. As social becomes a real lead source, a page on your own domain gives you more control, better tracking and connected email capture.

### What should be on a link in bio page?

A headline matching your content, your photo, a free resource with an email form, a call booking option, current highlights and a little real proof.

### How do I track clicks from my Instagram bio?

Add UTM parameters to the link and set up sign-ups and bookings as key events in Google Analytics.

### Why does my page load slowly from Instagram?

In-app browsers can be slower, and heavy pages suffer most. Reduce image sizes, scripts and page builder bloat.
