The Speech Therapy Boutique is the private practice of Olivia Oro, M.S., CCC-SLP, a bilingual speech-language pathologist in Miami who works only with adults. She helps people after a stroke or brain injury, and people living with Parkinson’s, MS, ALS, dementia or swallowing problems, in their own homes in Miami-Dade or by telehealth anywhere in Florida.

Who is really reading

When an adult needs speech therapy, the person searching is often not the patient. It is a husband after his wife’s stroke, or a daughter whose father has just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. So the site talks to both. The homepage has a plain “you may benefit if you are” checklist, and one of its points is simply: supporting a loved one.

Five pages, each with one job

  • Home, “Adult Speech Therapy That Helps You Reconnect With Life”, with the benefits, the conditions treated and short reviews
  • About Me, Olivia’s story: a master’s degree from Florida International University and more than ten years in stroke units, acute hospitals and inpatient rehab
  • Services, every therapy area on one page, a three-step How It Works and a ten-question FAQ
  • Blog and Contact Us

An intake form that saves a phone call

The contact form opens in a popup from any page and also sits on the contact page. It asks how the person prefers to be reached (call, text or email), what they are interested in, from a free 15-minute consultation to in-home therapy or telehealth, and the main concern: speech, language, cognition, voice or swallowing. Olivia knows what she is calling back about before she picks up the phone.

Articles for the searches families make

Four articles cover the topics people actually type into Google: cognitive-communication therapy for adults in Miami, motor speech therapy for apraxia and dysarthria, swallowing therapy, and memory aids after a brain injury or with dementia. Each one is a way in for someone who has never heard of the practice.

Why WordPress

A practice that wants to be found needs a blog it can keep adding to, and WordPress is built for that. I used Elementor on a Kadence child theme so Olivia can edit pages and publish articles herself, with LiteSpeed caching to keep pages quick. Navy, warm tan and soft blush with Marcellus headings give it the calm, personal feel of a boutique practice rather than a clinic.

A small website that does a lot of quiet work. The homepage loads its main content in 2.1 seconds on desktop, and it scores 100 for best practices and 95 for accessibility on mobile in Google Lighthouse.
