TreasureCon is a trading card, collectibles and pop culture convention that started in Perth, Western Australia. In two years it grew from a first-time show into a full weekend at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, with special guests flown in from the USA and thousands raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Now the brand has eight confirmed shows across Australia and the UK, including Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Birmingham. The website needed to grow with it.
The challenge
The original site was a single Squarespace page built for one show in one city. Tickets, vending, the venue and past highlights were all stacked into one long scroll, with dates and copy left over from earlier events. It worked for a local launch, but it could not sell tickets across several cities, recruit vendors and sponsors, or make a first-time visitor feel this was a serious, premium event.

Before
- One long page for everything
- Built around a single Perth show
- Outdated dates and mixed messaging
- No clear path for vendors or sponsors
After
- Dedicated pages for every audience
- Built for a multi-city tour, named by location
- A rich purple and gold brand that feels premium
- Clear calls to buy, vend, sponsor and register

The approach
I started by reviewing the old site alongside leading collectibles shows in Australia and the UK, then built a full clickable prototype before touching WordPress. That let the client react to real pages instead of descriptions. We went through several rounds on colour, moving from a dark corporate look to a rich purple base with gold accents and frosted glass cards. The goal was premium for the collectibles world, not premium like a bank.
The organiser is a vendor himself and walks the floor at every show, so the copy speaks to collectors as a fellow collector. Shows are named by city, like TreasureCon Perth or TreasureCon Melbourne, so the brand scales cleanly as new locations are added.

What I delivered
- A custom WordPress and Elementor build with global colours, fonts and responsive type for desktop, tablet and mobile
- Home, Events, Vend With Us, Sponsor and FAQ pages, plus a rebuilt ticketing flow
- Clear ticket tiers with age rules and VIP family passes
- An All Shows schedule covering every upcoming city, plus a live countdown to the next show
- Vendor expression of interest and Register Interest forms
- Social proof with sponsor logos and real attendee testimonials
- An accordion FAQ, mobile navigation, and SEO titles and descriptions for every page

The outcome
TreasureCon now has a website that matches the size of its ambition. Collectors can find their city and buy the right ticket in a few taps, vendors and sponsors have their own pages to apply, and anyone landing for the first time sees a polished, premium event worth travelling for. Because the site is built on reusable Elementor templates, adding the next city is a quick job, not a rebuild.
